Lima Jamir is from the Northeastern part of India and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree with a concentration in Piano Performance from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, New Orleans. Before moving to the United States, she served at Patkai Christian College, India, as a piano instructor. After moving to New Orleans to pursue her music career, she worked as an accompanist for the school choir at Holmer Plessy Community School, and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary men’s chorus. She also served as a church pianist at First Baptist Belle Chasse, and an organist at Christ Lutheran Church, New Orleans.  Lima will continue to serve as a piano instructor at South Shore Piano School, Quincy.

Even before moving to the United States, her goal in pursuing music was to serve God by giving back to the community. Through her active involvement in the field of music, she would like to continue advocating the importance of singing old hymns in the church because of their strong theology and church history.
